Girl with Braids

Well, here is the first post to show the progression of this small painting. It's 14" x 11" on stretched linen, I make my own stretcher for all my paintings. Note to self -- create a post showing how I make my stretchers.

This is my initial sketch in oil for this painting. I'm only using one color at this point, the color is Asphaltum (made by Gamblin). All I'm trying to do right now is get a grasp of the big shapes and making sure those are correct. I see alot of problems in this initial sketch, but I will resolve them before I get into any details or color.
