Study for Polka Dots

With this study I'm still trying to work out exactly what I want to do with the final painting. I tried a few things with the polka dots on her dress, then finally decided to paint the entire dress black. I'm still deciding on the background, I want her headband, shoes and fingernails to jump out with that red color but I think the background I have now is detracting from that. So I need to rework the background so more. This final painting will be somewhere around 24" x 30".

And isn't this the cutest kid in the entire world?
